PAGET. - On the 28th inst., at Margate, after a long and painful illness, SIDNEY EDWARD PAGET, aged 47 years. Funeral Marylebone Cemetery, East Finchley, on Saturday, at 2 p.m.

火曜日、長らく病を患っていたシドニー・エドワード・パジェット氏がマーゲイトで亡くなった。著名な画家で、「イラストレイテッド・ロンドン・ニュース」や「ザ・スフィア」の元スタッフにして、サー・Ａ・コナン・ドイルの「シャーロック・ホームズ」や「ロドニー・ストーン」のイラストを手掛けた。享年４７才。パジェット氏は、長年クラーケンウェルの教区会書記を務めた故ロバート・パジェット氏の息子で、息子の描いた肖像画は王立美術院に飾られた後、現在はフィンズベリー市庁舎に掲げられている。またパジェット氏は、パディントン区長だったサー・ジョン・エアド准男爵、同区書記官だった故フランク・デスリッジ氏の肖像画も描いており、現在はハロウ・ロードにある区議会に掲げられている。葬儀は今日（土曜日）午後２時から、イースト・フィンチリーのマリルバン墓地にて。

The death took place on Tuesday, at Margate, after a long illness, of Mr. SIDNEY EDWARD PAGET, a well-known artist, formerly on the staff of the Illustrated London News and the Sphere, and illustrator of Sir A.Conan Doyle's works "Sherlock Holmes" and "Rodney Stone."
Mr. Paget, who was 47 years of age, was a son of the late Mr. Robert Paget, for many years vestry clerk of Clerkenwell, whose portrait, which he painted, was shown at the Royal Academy and now hangs on the walls of the Finsbury Town-hall.
He also painted the portraits of Sir John Aird as Mayor of Paddington and of Mr. Frank Dethridge, the late town clerk of that borough, which are now hung in the council chamber of the town-hall, Harrow-road. The funeral takes place to-day at 2 o’clock at Marylebone Cemetery, East Finchley.

The death is announced of Mr. Sidney Edward Paget, a well-known artist, formerly on the staff of the "Illustrated London News" and "The Sphere," illustrator of "Sherlock Holmes" and "Rodney Stone," several of whose pictures have been exhibited at the Royal Academy.
Mr. Paget, who was in his 49th year, was a son of the late Mr. Robert Paget, for many years vestry clerk of Clerkenwell, whose portrait, which he painted, was shown at the Royal Academy and now adorns on the walls of the Finsbury Town Hall.
He also painted the portraits of Sir John Aird, Bt., as Mayor of Paddington, and of Mr. Frank Dethridge, the late town clerk of thatborough, which are now hung in the Council-chamber of the Town Hall, Harrow-road. The funeral of the late artist takes place to-day (Saturday) at Marylebone Cemetery, Finchley.
